Austin Crotinger

Worship Minister

The Well Youth meets in life groups at various locations and times in Springfield and surrounding areas every single week. We know how important it is for students to have strong spiritual leaders in their lives along with a great community of people their age, so we encourage our students to find a life group that fits them and get invested! The Well Youth also comes together the 4th Sunday of every month at 6pm for a powerful time of worship and preaching, so you don’t want to miss out!

Katelyn Bills

Youth Minister

As a teenage girl Katelyn was heavily involved in youth ministry. During this time, she felt a calling into vocational ministry, but wasn’t sure what that would look like for her. After coming to The Well, she felt God open a door for her to serve as a life group leader for teens. This volunteer position led to her eventually answer her call, and accept the position as the Youth Minister.

Katelyn married her husband Garrett in May of 2017. As a couple, Katelyn and Garrett are passionate about helping teens find and grow in their relationship with the Lord and helping to create a community that they can call home. As a teen that was heavily impacted by youth ministry Katelyn strives to have a same impact on this generation.

Her prayer is that The Well will continue to partner with our teens and be able to help them in their faith journey to do far greater for the kingdom than we could ever do! She believes that in this stage of life, teens are easily impressionable as they begin searching for their identity. Her prayer is to help these teens establish their identity solely in Christ all the days of their life.

Tara Manning

Children’s Minister, North Campus

Tara sensed God’s call into ministry in her early 20’s but wasn’t sure exactly what that looked like. She has served in various community ministries, including Relentless Teen Girls Encounter. God called her and her family to The Well, which ultimately led to the door opening as the Children’s Director.

Tara believes that ministry starts in the home and loves her title as “Wife” and “Mom.” She enjoys spending her time with family and friends whether at the lake, sitting around a fire, or just playing board games.

Tara’s passion is in equipping families to serve Christ. She desires to teach both children and parents that “They’re not just kids, they’re future leaders!” Her goal is to come alongside families to raise those leaders up.

Ashley Alexander

Children’s Minister, Downtown Campus

As a teenage girl Ashley felt a calling into children’s ministry, but wasn’t sure what that looked like. Shortly after coming to The Well, she felt God telling her she needed to step out of my comfort zone, and began volunteering in the Kids department, which eventually landed her the position as the downtown Kids minister.

Ashley has two sweet boys and a wonderful husband who are so supportive of her role in this ministry. She truly believes that ministry starts at home with her family, and her own children.

Her prayer is that The Well will be able to help these children establish a relationship with Christ, then help them build that relationship and prayer life with Him. She believes childhood is such a vital time in a person’s life where they set the foundation that they will carry with them for all of the days of their lives.

Our story

Selena Freeman served in youth ministry in Marshfield, MO for 18 years before helping plant The Well Church in downtown Springfield in early 2015 where she currently serves as co-pastor alongside Dylan Robinson.

Selena and her husband Jon, first met Dylan in February of 2010 when he attended a youth event that they were leading. He was a very broken, 16 year-old young man who came from a background of violence and drug abuse. Dylan gave his life to Christ that night and eventually moved into Jon and Selena’s home becoming their Godson. The initial goal was to help Dylan graduate from high school, but in the process God called Dylan to be a pastor. After attending James River Leadership college and MidAmerica Nazarene University, Dylan went on to Pittsburg KS, to work as a youth pastor where he led a group of more than 150 teens each week.

In 2015 God began to work on Dylan’s heart to move back home to the Springfield area to start a new ministry to reach his generation. The Lord was also moving Jon and Selena in the same direction and they began to pray about what God was leading them to do. In February 2015, five years to the month that Dylan gave his life to Christ, The Well was born.

Within the first few years, God has grown The Well from a core team of around 50 people to more than 800 people who call The Well their church home. Year three also included the launch of Redemption Ministries and The Potter’s House Downtown. Filled with young adults and young families, God is doing amazing things in and through The Well and plans for the next Well campus are in the works.

Our beliefs

We believe

in one God-the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe

that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.

We believe

that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually.

We believe

that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.

We believe

that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.

We believe

that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe

that the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers.

We believe

that our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.

The Well is a part of the Church of the Nazarene, a Protestant Christian church in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. Organized in 1908, the Church is now home to more than 2.5 million members worshiping in over 30,000 local congregations in 160 world areas. For more about what we believe, click here.
